Marcus AurelisMarcus Aurelius (121 AD-180 AD) was a Roman Emperor and philosopher. Born in Rome, Aurelius was raised by his mother and grandfather during the reign of Hadrian. He, along with his adopted brother Lucius Versus, would ascend to the throne afte the death of their uncle Antoninus Plus in 161 and would come to be known as the last of the "Five Good Emperors" as well as the last emperor of the Pax Romana.
