Mahdi NikdastMahdi Nikdast received his Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2014. Since 2014, he is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Computer and Software Engineering at olytechnique Montréal. He authored/co-authored more than 50 papers in refereed journals and international conference publications. He is the founder and the program chair of the International Workshop on Optical/Photonic Interconnects for Computing Systems (OPTICS). Mahdi was a recipient of several awards, including the Best Paper Award from the Design, Automation and Test in Europe (DATE) Conference (DATE-2016), the Best Poster Paper Award from the Asia Communications and Photonics Conference (ACP-2015), and the Second Best Project Award from the 6thAnnualAMDTechnical Forum and Exhibition (AMD-TFE-2010).
