M G SmithM. G. Smith (1921-1993) was professor of anthropology at University College London. He was a research fellow at the Institute of Social and Economic Research, University College of the West Indies (Jamaica), and professor of anthropology at the Univesity of California at Los Angeles. Smith has written numerous articles and is the author or editor of twelve books including Government in Zazzau, 1800-1950, West Indian Family Structure, The Plural Society in the British West Indies, and Pluralism in Africa (co-edited with Leo Kuper).
