Lynsey MelvilleDr Lynsey Melville is Professor of Environmental Engineering in the Faculty of Computing Engineering and Built Environment, Birmingham City University, UK. She leads the Bioresource and Bioeconomy research group whose focus is on accelerating the adotion of environmentally sustainable and commercially viable energy from biomass.
Since joining BCU she has been PI or CO-I on 11 peer reviewed funded projects with a total project value of >£20M. This funding has come from UK research councils (including Global Challenges Research Funding), EU programmes, British Council as well as commercial consultancy. Working with over 40 academic partners and more than 30 industry partners across 7 countries, her most recent projects have included working with rural communities in Bangaldesh, South Africa and Indonesia.
With expertise spanning various areas of environmental engineering (from water and wastewater treatment, organic waste management and bioenergy production) she has provided expert support to both industry and academia and her work has sought to bridge the gap between the two. Read More Read Less
