Luke Salm FscBrother Luke Salm, FSC, (1921-2009) the first Brother to receive a doctoral degree in theology, was a renowned author and prominent lecturer. He authored a number of books and countless articles in his field of theology on the history of Saint John Bptist de La Salle and the Brothers, the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, spirituality, and more. Brother Luke spent many years serving at Manhattan College, including as chairman of the theology/religious studies department from 1962-1970 and as director of the graduate theology program from 1970-1978. He served as a main presenter at Buttimer Institute of Lasallian Studies from 1986 to 2001.
