Lucienne Hollard McKayLucienne Hollard was born in Taintaux, Vosges, France, in 1916. She died an American citizen in Shreveport, Louisiana, in 1968. Educated in private schools and at the University of Nancy, she was a close friend of Colette, who encouraged the publicaton of her novel, Elisabeth. During World War II bombings, her entire family perished, and she became a member of the French Underground. Dr. Edwin Douglass McKay arrived in France with the American Army of Occupation.
