Louiza KaimakiLouisa Kaimaki was born in Nicosia in 1976. She studied Illustration with Animation at the Metropolitan University of Manchester. The source of inspiration for her works is mainly the observation of everyday life, her interpersonal relationships withthe world around her, the walks in the forest and in general her relationship with nature. With her own painting language she builds images expressing relationships and emotions. Using gouache and brushes brings memories and stories, poetry and short stories into life. She has illustrated many books and represented Cyprus at the Illustration Biennale in Bratislava, Slovakia and at the International Illustration Biennale in Belgrade. She is also involved in painting and has taken part in group exhibitions both in Cyprus and abroad. Her work has received several awards including the Illustration Award of the Cultural Foundation of the Bank of Cyprus in 2002 and the State Illustration Award of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus in 2004 and 2008.
