I have owned cocker spaniels for many years and was fortunate enough to spend a few of those years breeding pedigrees and was a registered breeder of the Kennel Club. From the bitch comin into season right through to the birth, it was an incredible experience and a marvel to witness new life. I learnt a lot from my canine friends and I started writing and illustrating the first Ravensthorpe Tinker book about my first cocker spaniel ten years ago. It's true what they say about writing from inspiration . . . without it I could not have written the Ravensthorpe Tinker series. Tinker was my inspiration; a cocker spaniel with a cracking personality who crossed paths with me when she was 18 months old. This delightful little spaniel was a rainbow of joy wherever she went with never-ending love in her heart and an ever-wagging tail.
