Long John BestLong John Best is a premier Australian bush/ cowboy poet. Born in Kent England, he migrated to Australia as a child. He was educated at Wilston State School, Brisbane Grammar, and the Air Force School of Technical Training in Wagga Wagga. Best served15 years Armament Fitter in the RAAF discharged 1969. After service, he had various Jobs and retired in 1998 from Queensland Transport Department. Best married to Glenys in 1966 and they have two daughters, Samantha and Kylie. Best worked with People with a Disability and wrote What's Fair? He toured in Cabaret Erratica at Melbourne Fringe Festival, Canberra Arts Festival and NIDA for World Congress on Disability. Best Joined North Pine Bush Poets Group and won Waltzing Matilda Competition at Winton in 2003 and went to National Cowboy Poetry Gathering Elko Nevada, the same year. Read More Read Less
