Fluent in Spanish and Catalan, he wrote fifteen novels, five books of short stories, and five volumes of drama, in addition to over five hundred articles for newspapes and magazines. The Dolls' Room is widely considered to be his greatest work, and a masterpiece of post-war Catalan fiction.
