I started reading Star Wars books and Asimov's works back in high school and they got me hooked on reading science fiction. The Chronicles of Narnia were my introduction o fantasy back in primary school but my favourite is the Lord of the Rings. I started writing way back in primary school. It became a hobby in high school and it is one I enjoy to this day. I have just published my first short story. I have a BA and MA, though not in English or Writing of any kind.
