Levie Kanes Levie Kanes was born in The Hague, Netherlands, in January 1943. After spending the Holocaust in the care of a gentile family in Holland, Levie was reunited with his biological mother in 1947. Upon making aliyah in 1961, Levie embarked on a facinating and versatile lifetime of entrepreneurialism, which included serving as the director of the Canadian Friends of Bar-Ilan University, managing some of the finest boxers in history, and owning his own law firm. Famous for his excellent food and hospitality, Levie opened a hotel in Netanya that featured the first glatt kosher Chinese restaurant in Israel.
