The Author served a number of years in the military, and travelling on a so-called 'government service' passport, found himself in such places as south Yemen, Bahrain, the Gulf f Oman, Cyprus and Germany. After leaving the service, he became part of the team producing the highly successful business jet, The Hawker 125. He functioned as a quality-engineering inspector with, initially, British Aerospace then Corporate Jets Inc and finally Raytheon USA, the latter of which purchased the thriving business and moved production to the USA.
