Lavinia B MastersLavinia B. Masters is the namesake of HB 8: The Lavinia Masters Act in the State of Texas. She is also the author of the self published book entitled, Breathe Again: How Rape Brought a Woman of Misery to a Woman of Ministy as well as her first book o poetry entitled, Genie in a Bottle. Lavinia is the first black living woman with a law named after her in Texas as well as the United States. Lavinia also serves on the Sexual Assault Survivors Taskforce of Texas, TAASA Sexual Assault Survivor Advisory Board founding member, WhiteHouse SAS Task Force Member and the Founder of Hope SAVES. Lavinia serves survivors all across the State of Texas and United States with her services and affiliatons.
