Laurie A. NormanLaurie A. Norman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Science and Mathematics at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay, MA where she teaches chemistry classes.' Her favorite class to teach is Organic Chemistry/The Chemistry of azardous Materials, a required course for students majoring in Emergency Management and Marine Safety & Environmental Protection.' She earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Bowdoin College and her Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.' Upon completion of her studies, she worked as a research scientist for Honeywell’s Consumer Products Group where she formulated products used in the car care industry.'
