Laurence KeenLaurence Keen began his professional career in archaeology carrying out excavations on monuments in state guardianship in advance of their conservation and display, including Mount Grace Priory where he examined seven cells and their gardens in the geat cloister. He was appointed Director of the Southampton Excavation Committee in 1973, and County Archaeologist for Dorset in 1975.
