Laura HackfeldLaura Lavelle (née Hackfeld) is a native of the Washington, DC, area who happened upon Oak Hill Cemetery by chance. Her passion for Oak Hill Cemetery and natural talent for storytelling led her to join its staff as office manager and historian, spendng years scouring over the historical records of the cemetery. She has uncovered many stories and relishes the opportunity to share them for the first time in the cemetery's 175-year history in this publication.
