Lashonda WoffordMy name is Lashonda Renee Wofford. I was born to George and Beverly Williams in Goldsboro, North Carolina. I am happily married to my wonderful husband, Travis Wofford, for eleven years. I am the proud mother of two, one biological daughter, and one on, whom my husband and I have raised since the age of six. I am also a proud grandmother of one grandson, Cam'Ron Jackson-Walker, six years old. My family and I are faithful members of Grace AME Zion Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. In addition to my family's long-standing church membership, I have actively led the praise and worship team and sang in multiple church choirs. I am currently pursuing a degree as a Registered Respiratory Therapist while running the day to day operations of Akins Helping Hands. Akins Helping Hands is a privately family-owned business that provides in-home care to the elderly and individuals battling illnesses that require hands-on assistance with Activities of Daily Living and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living. The organization is led by myself, as the CEO/Administrator, and my husband as the CEO. Akins Helping Hands has been in business since 2015 and we are still serving our own and surrounding communities today. I am also the Founder of GRACE Community Outreach INC. GRACE is a non-profit organization that helps feed and clothe the less-fortunate, provides support for victims of child sexual abuse and their families, as well as providing support to individuals battling with cancer. Through these organizations, I have been able to really fulfill my purpose in life and I am honored and thankful to God for choosing me for such a task. People often feel like we are helping so many people, but the reality is that serving people in these different capacities has been such a blessing to me and my family. We don't take any of it for granted. I look forward to bigger and better in the years to come!
