Larry's support of Native American issues includes documentaries, lectures, television appearances, radio host, and man other public arenas. Because of Larry's efforts, he has helped change laws in Texas pertaining to American Indian burial grounds. One of Larry's major quests is the pending construction of a monument on public lands of Corpus Christi to commemorate the location of the second largest Native American burial ground in the state of Texas. He is a member and advisor for South Texas Alliance of Indigenous People (STAIP).Larry Running Turtle has performed countless ceremonies and continues to bring forth many lessons he has learned from life and from following the Good Red Road. Larry was trained in Japanese and Korean martial arts for over 48 years with 4 black belts from 4 different styles and also studied with Steven Seagal. This led him to a 10 year commitment to study and practice Buddhist teachings and eventually he met His Holiness The Dalai Lama and Thick Nhat Hanh. Larry is versed in the discipline of the Bushido, which embraces Eastern philosophy of peace, harmony, and respect for self and others.
