Lakesha M BerryLakesha M. Berry, a 40 year old single female, native of southwest Detroit, Michigan - born in Westland, Michigan. Her love for her city was abundant from a young age as she watched her grandmother's love of cooking and giving back to community. Readng the work of her father, he loved writing poetry, her love for cooking, English, writing and giving back grew. Never realizing what GOD would lay on her heart or just how much it would flourish, Lakesha started a nonprofit program in 2012 called Adopt-a-family - Ending hunger one meal at a time. She fed families in need a home cooked meal, also provided free resources to help parents. Still feeling a void and stepping out on faith she used words to tell her story of trials she has faced, seen others go through and overcome. She started allowing her words to penetrate, putting pen to paper. No Longer Silenced, My Words Your Perceptions is a collection of poems about family, death, heartache, love and just how much words hurt, if used in anger. No matter the trial, many can relate. Can you? Lakesha's hope is that her perceptions will awaken your voice, that her journey will strengthen you. Read More Read Less
