Lafe Lownorthern section of Beaver Brook is already in the first edition. There's still a huge area of preserved land to the south, so I added a hike through there. Many of these trails overlap the Bay Circuit trail in spots. So I've also added a whole new sction on the Bay Circuit Trail, a permanent recreation trail extending through 37 towns, linking parks and open spaces as it loops from Newburyport on the North Shore to Lifelong New Englander Lafe Low spends as much time as possible outside--skiing, hiking, skiing, camping, skiing, kayaking, skiing, and so on. He has nearly achieved his goal of having his garage look like a warehouse for REI or Eastern Mountain Sports. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Keene State College in 1984, he immediately went to work in the magazine world. After working for a variety of technology magazines, he launched his own magazine in 1995 entitled Explore New England (coincidentally, the same year his son was born). This was truly crossroads of his professional and personal passions. After Explore New England, he went on to be the editor of Outdoor Adventure and write for other outdoor publications. While now back working in the technology world, he still writes about the outdoors to feed his passion. His first book, Best Tent Camping: New England, was first published in 2002.
