He is noted for his knowledge of Hindu law which led to his promotion to the Bombay High Court as judge and his authoritative translation of Te Bhagavadgita. F. MAX MÜLLER (1823-1900) was a German author and orientalist who lived in England most of his life. As a professor at Oxford, he combined the studies of language, culture, and religion to create the discipline of comparative mythology.
