Krzysztof Frankowski

Krzysztof FrankowskiKrzysztof Frankowski (born 1932) is a founding member and professor emeritus of computer science at the University of Minnesota (USA). He became interested in mathematics in high school, more deeply so after winning an award at the first Internationa Mathematical Olympiad in Warsaw. He got a bachelor's degree in mathematics at the University of Lódź, a master's degree in applied mathematics from the University of Warsaw, and a doctorate in philosophy (Ph.D.) from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. From 1958 to 1965 he worked as a researcher at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, where he wrote programs on the WEIZAC, one of the world's first computers.
