Kortright DavisKortright Davis is professor of theology at Howard University School of Divinity and rector emeritus of the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Washington, DC. He has served the church and academia in several capacities, having been ordained into the nglican priesthood since 1966. He has served as lecturer and acting principal (dean) of Codrington Theological College in Barbados. He was one of the founding executives of the Caribbean Conference of Churches (CCC), and was the principal coordinator of the Inaugural Assembly of the CCC in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1973. He holds degrees from the Universities of London, Sussex, and the UWI, as well as honorary degrees from the General Theological Seminary, the Virginia Theological Seminary, and the University of the West Indies. He is a former member of the Anglican Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCICII), and the Faith and Order Commission of the World Council of Churches. He is the author of several books, including the widely acclaimed Emancipation Still Comin' and Compassionate Love and Ebony Grace. His most recent book is entitled We Belong to Big Church.
