His research interests include the energy-exergy and thermoeconomic analysis and optimisation of decentralized thermal energy conversion systems. These include waste heat recovery, Organic Rankine Cycle, thermal cooling, generation/ rigeneration/ polygeneration applications driven by waste heat, biomass, solar and geothermal energy as well as hybrid energy systems.
