Klaus Ulrich Schmolke"Franz Hofmann, LL.M. (Cambridge) has held the Chair of Civil Law, Intellectual Property Law and Technology Law at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universitat Erlangen-Nurnberg since November 2016. He completed his habilitation at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Univrsitat Munich in the summer of 2016. He received his doctorate in Bayreuth (2009), where he previously had studied law. His main areas of interest are the basic principles in intellectual property law and unfair competition law, issues of enforcement (Law of Remedies) and liability issues. A special focus is on the legal issues of digitalization (digital copyright) and legal issues around new media such as YouTube etc. Robert Freitag, Maitre en droit (Bordeaux) completed his studies at the Universities of Gottingen, Bayreuth and Bordeaux. In 2000, he received his doctorate from the University of Bayreuth with a thesis on conflict of laws and his habilitation in 2005 with a thesis on banking law. From 2006 to 2011 he held the Chair of Civil Law, Commercial and Corporate Law at the University of Hamburg, and since 2011 he has held the Chair of German, European and International Private and Commercial Law at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universitat Erlangen-Nurnberg. Prof. Freitag's research focuses on banking and capital markets law, corporate and reorganization law, and conflict of laws. Jochen Hoffmann holds the Chair of Private Business Law at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universitat Erlangen-Nurnberg, after having completed his studies, doctorate (1998) and habilitation (2005) in Bayreuth. Before he came to Erlangen he held professorship at the University of Hamburg (2006-2009). His main areas of interest are corporate law, banking law, consumer law, anti-discrimination law and antitrust law, in each case with particular reference to European and international aspects. (NYU) received his doctorate in 2003 with a thesis on corporate law at the University of Mainz and, after holding various positions in Bonn, New York and Hamburg, habilitated in 2012 with a civil law topic at Bucerius Law School.
