Kit GradyKit Grady is a full time children's illustrator and author living, hiking and playing in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina with her Siamese cat. Kit is best known for her bright colors and expressive animals. Her love for drawing animals, naure and children began very early. She continued her passion studying art at Virginia Commonwealth University and later studied under Caldecott winners Uri Shulevitz and Gale Haley. Her clients include Houghton Mifflin, The United Methodist Publishing House/Cokesbury, Kaeden Books, and Guardian Angel Publishing. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and received first place with her children's picture book manuscript from SCBWI Carolina's Chapter. She is also featured as one of the winning artists in the SCBWI Carolinas Calendar for the 2021 Conference. She is currently working on several picture books and a middle grade novel with line work illustrations.
