Kirk MunroeKirk Munroe (1850-1930) was an American writer and conservationist. He was born in a log cab near Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, and spent most of his youth on the frontier. In 1876 he was hired as a reporter for the New York Sun, soon after which he bcame the first editor of Harper's Young People magazine. Where he worked and for whom varied greatly after that, but throughout his life he exhibited his love for writing, contributing titles such as Wakulla (1886), The Flamingo Feather (1887), and The White Conquerors, to name a few.
