Kim SchultzKim Schultz is a Chicago based author, actor and refugee advocate. In 2009, she traveled to the Middle East as an artist/activist to meet with Iraqi refugees, falling in love with Omar and forever changing her life. For the past seven years, inspiredto work on behalf of refugees worldwide, Kim began promoting the art of displaced Iraqi artists, working as NY Chapter Chair of The List Project as well as helping recently resettled refugees make a home in the U.S. through various resettlement organizations. Artistically, she turned their stories and her own into a critically-acclaimed play No Place Called Home: This Isn't Supposed to be a Love Story, a small journal style book Story Diary (Veterans Book Project, 2012) and the memoir Three Days in Damascus (Palewell Press, 2016). She has published several articles and op-eds on the subject and has an essay published in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Angels and Miracles (Chicken Soup for the Soul, 2016).
