Kia PortafekasKia Portafekas is a musician, composer, teacher, and author. Her first book, Making Music With Your Child, published by MMB Music, Inc., was funded in part by a grant from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. She has also recorded Kias Kids, a CD of original songs by her students ages 6-12, and been featured in a documentary, Kia's Kids, which aired on PBS. She is a graduate of Queens College (Aaron Copland School of Music), Mannes Conservatory, and New York's famous FAME School-Fiorello H.
