Khalid Edd WhiteKhalid White, EdD, is an Ethnic Studies Professor and Umoja Program Coordinator at San Jose City College. Khalid began teaching in the California Community College system in 2005, in the Ethnic Studies and Social Science disciplines. Prior to workingin higher education, Khalid worked with incarcerated adolescents in the Juvenile Probation field. His research and practical efforts in higher education have focused on effective strategies for student success for African American males, and underrepresented males, in the California Community College system. Dr. White received his Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Morehouse College. He earned a Master's degree in Adolescent Education from Harvard University's Graduate School of Education.
