Katie ImborekKatie Imborek, M.D. (she/her/hers), as a lesbian woman, is an activist for queer and trans rights in Iowa, and as such has been a central figure in the queer transformation of Sanctuary, which she started attending in 2010 when it was still a church n the evangelical Vineyard denomination. Katie is a Clinical Professor and the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations in the Department of Family Medicine at University of Iowa Health Care, where she co-founded and co-directs the LGBTQ+ health clinic. Katie received her B.A. in kinesiology from DePauw University, her M.D. from the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa, and completed her residency training in Family Medicine at UI Health Care.
