Katia OtemanKatia and Cairo had the idea of writing The Turquoise Jewel while living in Dubai. They had travelled to Oman for a vacation and were captivated by the country and its rich history. The book is loosely based on Cairo's experience as an expat child grwing up in the Middle East. Katia and Cairo are mother and daughter and have travelled all over the world and Katia published a blog about their many travel experiences.
