Kathryn HartleyKathryn has had a life-long love affair with creative writing since she won her first poetry competition at age 10. She has published short stories and poetry in literary journals and anthologies over the years and produced a book of poetry: Women Wihout Shadows. She has also published a YA novel: Journey to Night Mountain. Her work, both short fiction and poetry, has also been featured frequently on CBC Radio's Alberta Anthology program.Professionally she served as the Executive Director of the Calgary Region Arts Foundation for 23 years. Then she and her husband and son moved from Calgary to Nelson in search of a more natural life style surrounded by lakes to paddle, trails to walk, and mountains and valleys to explore.In Nelson Kathy worked for the Nelson and District Arts Council for two years then retired to concentrate on writing and many volunteer positions.
