Kathleen MarcathKathleen Marcath is a children's book author and a strong supporter of American Sign Language (ASL) education for audiences of all ages and backgrounds. She first discovered ASL when she learned to sign the song "Our God Is an Awesome God." The beaut and power of ASL got a hold of her and never let go. She has repeatedly watched the same magic illuminate people's faces (deaf and hearing alike) when they learn this beautiful language. She strongly believes that learning ASL at any age is beneficial and adds value to life. Kathleen earned a B.A. in Deaf Community Studies from Madonna University and learned of the challenges the Deaf community has endured. She was moved to address the lack of representation of Deaf culture in children's books by founding ASL Picture Books and publishing her debut. My Monster Truck Goes Everywhere With Me is a one-of-a-kind picture book where the characters use ASL. Inspired by her grandson, Kathleen merged her love of children with her passion for ASL. Her debut book was extremely well-received. It was named one of the Best Indie Books of 2021 by Kirkus Reviews, awarded a Certified Great Reads Seal from Jed Doherty, a Bronze Medal Award, and 5 stars by Reader's Favorite, who said, "Monster truck lovers and fans of the movie Cars will ask for this one again and again. My Monster Truck Goes Everywhere with Me should be in every school and public library." Read More Read Less
