Kathleen M GeigerKathleen Geiger retired from teaching 3rd grade at Grand Ridge School. She lives outside Grand Ridge on the farm her husband Frank farmed. She was inspired to write this book and wanted her stories to teach lessons on love, acceptance, and getting alng with others. Kathleen grew up on a farm outside of Alexis, Illinois. She graduated from Alexis High School. She received her BS degree from Western Illinois University. Later she continued her education at Olivet Nazarene University receiving her MS in Education in 2004. She began her teaching career at Woodland School, Streator as a special education teacher. After her sons were in school, she resumed her teaching career at Grand Ridge School teaching resource and then third grade. She retired in 2013. Kathleen and her husband raised two sons who are now married and have families. Since retiring Kathleen has enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, subbing, sewing, and baking. Her husband, Frank "Beau" retired from farming and enjoyed working in his yard creating beautiful flowerbeds as well as babysitting his granddaughter. Kathy has always tried through her teaching to have her students understand that besides academics we need to learn to help one another. She proved this when her husband, Frank, became ill and she donated a kidney to him. Her first book, Farmer Beau's Farm, was put on the shelf until she decided to go ahead with it and dedicate it to her husband who died in 2015. Part of the proceeds from her books will be donated to the National Kidney Foundation. Read More Read Less
