She is the author of Irish People, Irish Linen; Textile Art from Southern Appalachia: the quiet work of women; Uplifting the South: Mary Mildred Sulliva's Legacy for Appalachia; and Dancing at the Warm Springs Hotel. Kathleen and her husband, David Leonard, live in Blacksburg, Virginia.Few children know how their clothing is made or how natural fibers are used to make cloth.
