After earning a Bachelor's Degree in psychology from UNC Asheville, she studied anthropology and animal behavior at the University of Florida, Gainesville. Throughout her career, se has worked as a treatment specialist at a correctional facility for the mentally ill, a substance abuse counselor, and a life coach for persons with special needs. After harboring an irrepressible passion for writing her whole adult life, she retired to write full time.
