Karen LuryKaren Lury is Professor of Film and Television Studies in the School of Culture and Creative Arts at the University of Glasgow. She has published widely in film and television studies, with a particular focus on the representation of the child in fil and in relation to children's media more generally. Her books include Interpreting Television (Bloomsbury, 2005) and The Child in Film: Tears, Fears and Fairytales (2010). Her work on the child in film was developed through her (2010-2014) AHRC funded project 'Children and Amateur Media in Scotland'. Her most recent publication, an anthology - co-edited with Michael Lawrence - The Zoo and Screen Media: Images of Exhibition and Encounter (2016) includes an essay based on research from this project.
