Karen Jones PorterKaren Jones Porter, born on St. Patrick's Day, 1942, grew up in the small, rural town of Kewanee, Illinois. Graduating from the University of Iowa with a BSN in Nursing in 1965, she and her surgeon husband, moved their young growing family twelve tims before making their home in Twin Falls, Idaho. A young Vietnam flight surgeon's wife at the time of the Tet Offensive 1968, she returned to Kewanee with two toddlers to await his return a year later.Owner of a Travel Agency and Middle Fork Rapid Transit (a whitewater rafting company) she joined the Chamber of Commerce and was elected to its board becoming Vice President. She also served as the President of the Twin Falls Heart Association and on the Board of the Idaho State Board of the American Heart Association.Mother of five, Yaya to ten, she resides with her husband of sixty years in Boise, Idaho and Los Barriles, BCS, Mexico.
