DOMINIC (born 1956) Indian English poet, critic, editor and short story writer is a faculty member of the PG & Research Department of English, Newman College, Thodupuzha East P.O., Idukki District, Kerala, India, Pin: 685585. He was born on 13 ebruary 1956 at Kalady, a holy place in Kerala where Adi Sankara, the philosopher who consolidated the doctrine of Advaita Vedanta was born. Prof. Dominic has been teaching UG and PG students since 1985. His research topics are "Pathos in the Short Stories of Rabindranath Tagore" and "East-West Conflicts in the Novels of R. K. Narayan with Special Reference to The Vendor of Sweets, Waiting for the Mahatma, The Painter of Signs and The Guide." He is the author of the books, (1) Postcolonial Readings in Indo-Anglian Literature, (2) Selected Short Stories in Contemporary Indo-Anglian Literature, (3) Pathos in the Short Stories of Rabindranath Tagore and (4) Reason and Fantasy (Poems and Short Stories). International Poets Academy, Chennai has conferred on him the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD "in recognition of his distinguished contribution to World Poetry, and for his pioneering pursuits in influencing mankind towards the path of World Peace, Global Harmony and Cosmic Humanism." Prof. Dominic has written a number of poems, critical essays and short stories in reputed journals and books. As the Editor of Indian Journal of Postcolonial Literatures (IJPCL), a reputed international refereed biannual (ISSN 0974 - 7370) published by the Centre for English Studies, Newman College, Thodupuzha, Kerala, India, he is a well known figure in the universities, colleges and such academic circles all over India.
