K R MorrisonK.R. Morrison is a poet and drummer who teaches English Literature and Creative Writing to inner city youth in San Francisco, Ca. In 1997, she fell in love with San Francisco, where she earned a B.A. in philosophy from USF(2001), a portion of which se earned at Oxford University, her emphasis on Medieval Philosophy and Gothic Art and Architecture. Morrison earned a teaching credential, another B.A. in English Literature, and minored in Creative Writing from California State University, Long Beach (2004). Longing to return to the only place that ever felt like home, she went back to San Francisco, where she's been teaching at Galileo High School for 17 years. Morrison was a guest on two popular Bay Area's podcasts, Bitchtalk and Storied: San Francisco about being an educator, musician, and writer in a city that's rapidly changing. She has featured for many curations throughout the Bay Area, apart from reading at curations in New Orleans, Los Angeles, and New York. Published by Switchback, Quiet Lightning, and Haight Ashbury Literary Journal, Gasconade Review recently published three of her poems in an anthology entitled, Ladies Night, while Great Weather for Media included her Memoir of a Pirate Girl Who Could and Did in their most anthology, Escape Wheel.
