Julio Ligorría

Julio LigorríaJulio Ligorría Carballido is an accomplished analyst of international political affairs and has a long history, of over thirty years, as a consultant specializing in public and private crisis management. He was Guatemala's Ambassador until the end of2015 to the United States. In his book El águila y el quetzal, renowned Spanish writer and journalist César Vidal, states that Ligorría was considered by the U.S. government administration to be the most appreciated and competent Ambassador of the region. Julio Ligorría led the efforts the United States Congress, together with his colleagues, for the approval of the plan for the Alliance for Prosperity of the Northern Triangle of Central America, which sought to support public policies for the benefit of the most vulnerable sectors of the region, while fighting organized crime. He is the author of more than 1,600 essays on contemporary democracy and has published four books on electoral issues, democracy and strategy design.
