Julie HooksJulie Hooks attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she majored in Child and Family Studies. Her work as an elementary-school teacher's assistant has been an inspiration in her stories. When not writing or reading, she enjoys travelig throughout Louisiana attending festivals, trade days, and market shows. Her favorite pastime is hosting crawfish boils with all the trimmings while surrounded by friends and family. She resides in Southwest Louisiana with her husband, Kelly. Together, they have two daughters, Hannah (Bear) and Haleigh (LuLu), a big fluffy cat named Ollie, and a silly dog named Finn. Children's book illustrator Drew Beech is a southern Louisiana native. She is an alumna of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts and Marymount Manhattan College. In her free time, Drew enjoys rock climbing, losing herself in books, collecting house plants, camping, biking, and hiking. Her greatest adventure, however, has been parenting and growing alongside her daughter.
