Julie ChapmanJulie Chapman is a two-time Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist with more than 30 years of professional news experience. She is the longest-running morning anchor in New York's Capital Region. Chapman has worked as an anchor and reporter at varios news stations from Binghamton to Baltimore.Chapman is also a national award-winning author. She has written two children's books that celebrate the magical moments of the holiday season. Her first book, Witches, Bats, and Mystical Cats won the Outstanding Creator Awards' 2022 Children's Book of the Year. The critic review called her writing "masterful," and her poetry, "upbeat, fun, and enjoyable." Her book also won five other national awards including a Moonbeam Children's Book Award. Her newest follow-up book, Santa, Elves, and Magical Bells was released in 2023 and is already on book lists for schools. Dedicated to giving back, Chapman is passionate about mentoring and youth empowerment programs. She hosts numerous school assemblies throughout the year where she talks with students about the importance of reading, writing, imagination, and self-expression. For more than a decade, she has worked closely with Girls Inc. and The Festival of Nations Diversity Celebration hosting their premiere events.In her spare time, she loves riding her motorcycle (Can-Am Spyder), Formula 1 Racing, caring for her rescue kitties, and power walking with friends.
