Julie BowenJulie Bowen graduated from the University of Wales (Newport) with a BA Hons in Archaeology in 2007 and worked with Church and Site Archaeology, based in Monmouth, whilst continuing excavating with the Herefordshire County Archaeology Team. She now lies in Dorset, where she is a member of the Association of Portland Archaeologists and the Dorset Natural History and Archaeological Society, taking part in regular summer excavations on the Isle of Portland and the South Dorset Ridgeway. The author's interest in medieval floortiles was triggered taking part in a dig at Leominster Old Priory in 2005 which led to her dissertation on the important collection of tiles found there.
