She is a past president of the Bungalow Heaven Neighborhood Assocation and chair of Pasadena's Design Commission. Coauthor John G. Ripley, an aerospace engineer, is a respected local historian and longtime resident of the neighborhood. A charter member of the Bungalow Heaven Neighborhood Association, he was responsible for compiling the city's historic house database.
