Jr John SherryJohn F. Sherry, Jr. is an anthropologist who studies the sociocultural dimensions of consumer behavior and marketing. He has researched, lectured, and consulted around the globe on issues of brand strategy, experiential consumption, and retail atmosperics. He is the Raymond W. & Kenneth G. Herrick Professor of Marketing at the University of Notre Dame, and taught previously at Northwestern University's Kellogg School for over two decades. Sherry is a Fellow of the American Anthropological Association and the Society for Applied Anthropology. He is a past President of both the Association for Consumer Research and the Consumer Culture Theory Consortium, and a former Associate Editor of the Journal of Consumer Research. He has edited and written 10 books, authored more than 100 widely reprinted articles and chapters, published over 50 poems (including 6 co-edited chapbooks), and produced 2 videos. He is a longtime proponent of arts-based research. Sherry has won awards for his scholarly work and poetry.
