He obtained his PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Porto and brings more than 18 years of teaching and research experience in enviromental sciences and process systems engineering. His research is focused on biomass production, sustainable macro- and microalgal cultivation practices, and applications of microalgae in water treatment and bioenergy.
