Josh GriffinAt school in what was laughably termed 'careers advice', when asked what he wanted to do for work, he answered proudly, "I'm going to be a diver!" When the teacher had stopped laughing, he was told "You'll never make that; you'll be lucky to get a jo sweeping streets." This made him even more determined not to fit into the normal pigeonholes of a bigoted grammar school in the early 1970s.Over the next few years, he found himself to be fortunate enough to exploit good fortune and was able to prove them all wrong. He did become a commercial diver, working in both the inshore civil engineering and offshore oilfields around the world. Later he would manage diving projects as well as teaching commercial diving and underwater inspection techniques to a wide range of clients both in the UK and overseas.Upon retirement, Josh decided that, having written a number of instructional texts and technical manuals, he should try his hand at writing books, deciding to attempt a little fiction.
